Process

How a project works.

From the first call to the first sauna, most projects follow the same three steps and take about ten weeks.

Norman: Glass across the front and right-hand walls opens up the room, with a Pikkutonttu heater and valance LED lighting.
  1. 01Week 1

    Consultation

A free conversation by phone or a visit to the site. We look at the room, ask how many people will use the sauna and how often, and talk through formats, heaters, and budget.

If you have drawings, send them ahead. If you have only a photo of a corner, that works too.

  2. 02Weeks 2 to 4

    Design

We work out the dimensions, wood, bench layout, glass, lighting, and heater, and send you a detailed proposal and price. For new builds and renovations we coordinate with your architect, builder, and electrician so the room is ready when we arrive.

Materials are ordered once you approve the design.

  3. 03Weeks 8 to 10

    Installation

Custom-cut saunas usually take a day or two on site; modular units often a single day. We walk you through the heater, the controls, and how to look after the wood before we leave.

Architects and builders

We’re used to being
one trade among many.

A good share of our work comes through architects, builders, and property developers. We provide dimensions, electrical requirements, and ventilation details early, work to the schedule, and keep the site clean.

Send drawings and we’ll respond with a proposal and a spec sheet your team can build to.

Common questions

Good to know
before you start.

Where do you work?

Throughout North and South Carolina, including Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, and Greenville. We’re based in Browns Summit, near Greensboro, and travel for consultations and installations.

What does a sauna cost?

Our current project minimum is $20,000. Size, wood, glass, lighting, and the heater all move the price. You get a detailed proposal after design, and we’ll tell you early if a budget and a brief don’t match.

How long does it take?

Current lead time is 8 to 10 weeks from order to installation. Installation itself is usually 2 days for a custom-cut sauna, and often one day for a modular unit.

What does the room need?

A level floor, a dedicated electrical circuit sized for the heater, and ventilation. Custom-cut saunas also need the walls and ceiling framed to our drawings. We specify all of this during design.

Do you work with my architect or builder?

Yes, often. We provide drawings, electrical and ventilation requirements, and a schedule your team can plan around.

How do I look after it?

Very little. Keep the room ventilated after use and wipe the benches down. We go through care of the wood and the heater at handover.
